BulkSMS Account Setup
Set up a new account on the bulksms.com website
Note: BulkSMS cannot send your passcode to your iPod. You must set up your account using a phone.
Change to your country or nearest regional site, and then follow the links to open a new account.
Choose your desired username and password, and enter a mobile telephone number (International format) to receive your passcode if necessary.
If you would like copies of your SMS messages sent to an email address, log into your new account and under 'My Account -> Advanced features -> Email Settings', enter the email address where you would like to receive your SMS messages, and click 'Update'.
BulkSMS does not provide new message notifications but by using a push-email app and an account which supports push, such as MobileMe, Gmail or Yahoo, you can receive a visible, audible or vibrate alert when a reply arrives in your inbox, just like a phone - even if your app is suspended or your device is sleeping.
Your Account Profile
Ensure that you set your local Time Zone, so that your message dates and times are correct for you. There is no need to change anything else in your account profile unless you also want to send SMS from the website. Simple SMS does not support SMS replies to a separate phone.
Simple SMS Setup
The first time you use Simple SMS you must select the BulkSMS regional server where you have your account, and enter your username and password.
Tap 'Done' and then pick your home country from the popup list. Simple SMS uses this information to automatically add the correct country code before sending, so you don't have to.
Make your choice and within a few seconds your credit balance will display on screen. See the User Guide for further information.
Note: The BulkSMS carriers operate public SMS gateway services, and know nothing about your Simple SMS app. Contact them only for account-related issues such as passwords etc. If you encounter difficulties using Simple SMS, please follow the Quick Troubleshooter link above.
